When he said "The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels."
Apparently, the couple who named their children Adolph Hitler have lost custody of their 3 children:
Parents who named two of their children "Adolf Hitler" and "Aryan Nation" lost custody of all three of their children Thursday, even though they say a New Jersey appeals court found no evidence of abuse, ruling the children have been taken away without cause, MyFoxPhilly reports.

Honey, this is your wife speaking. You know as well as I do that the media only reports 1/4 of the story, especially when it comes to child welfare (when the courts are bound by confidentiality). Here are some thoughts on the article:
The parents say the appeals court found no evidence of abuse (yet another paragraph states the appeals court found sufficient evidence of abuse/neglect b/c of domestic violence). This is the parents' word (wonder what the appeals court's word would be if they could speak publicly?), and also doesn't cover if the appeals court found evidence of neglect (at least in the initial sentence...the latter sentence stating there was sufficient evidence does use the word "neglect").
The parents are picketing the DFCS office. At least in our state, DFCS cannot keep custody of children unless a judge agrees that the action was appropriate (and the judge in my work universe was very, very conversative when it came to letting DFCS keep custody).
Because DFCS and the courts are basically gagged by confidentiality laws, we're missing too much of the story to make a judgement. I would be surprised if DFCS is unilaterally going rogue and keeping these kids away from their parents against the recommendations of the court....they get enough bad rap as it is when they *follow* court orders!
