Hey ...

.
... schadenfreude is schadenfreude!

An anti-gun policy is driving yet another business from a Beaumont mall where a man recently had his AR-15 confiscated.

Derek Poe owns Golden Triangle Tactical, a gun shop inside Parkdale Mall.  He made national headlines after being arrested after carrying the rifle through the shopping center.

Other tenants now say the mall's “illegal crackdown” – including the posting of signs on some entrances – is costing them business.
I wrote about this the other day, and while I believe it's the mall's right to ban firearms on their property, CBL was trying to 'ban'  guns instead of 'BAN-ban' guns.

So it's nice to see this bit of schadenfreude.

It's also nice to see that maybe, just maybe ... open carry is not the kiss of death that some Fudds would have us believe.

Schadenfreude ...

.
... it's what's for breakfast:

if this heart-warming story of a self-righteous activist being beaten to death in his sleep by seals doesn't put a little spring in your step this morning, you simply cannot be considered to have evolved sufficiently claim membership in homo sapiens sapiens.

Authorities initially thought that the activist had been done in by the fishermen he tried to thwart ...

More shielding ...

... of people from their own stupid decisions:

If your Leaf EV goes limp near Nissan headquarters in Japan, help is on the way. But it's not very green.
In a test program in its home prefecture south of Tokyo, Nissan's 5-ton "EV rescue vehicle," with a 29-kilowatt diesel-slurping mobile generator, speeds to the aid of EV drivers with dead batteries.
Having worked in a related segment of the construction industry, I can attest that a 29kw generator is a pretty big genset to be hauling around to save folks who forget to fill up their tanks.

Why couldn't we just let them sit on the site of the road and let them be the subjects of intense ridicule by the general public? Or maybe there could be a Facebook/Twitter system whereby folks could be alerted to come by and offer them a gallon of gas?! 'You can't use gas? Srsly?'?

Wouldn't that be sweet ...

Logical extension of ideas

South Dakota lawmakers take lefty idea about commerce clause, applies it to firearms:

Five South Dakota lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.”

I think they should add that if you buy a Glock, you should also buy a factory 33rd magazine as well.

Jazz Shaw over at Hot Air's Green Room thinks this ploy will backfire, but he misses the point. Quothe Ace: "This is a classic sort of argument, and it's classic for a reason; take your opponents' claim of general principle and begin applying it generally to see what they think of it. If the principle seems ridiculous in most contexts, chances are, it's just as ridiculous in the context they initially proposed it."

It's kinda like when lefty's were screaming about how eeevil tobacco was, until a Republican senator proposed banning it outright. Seems tobacco sales bring in significant revenue.

Schadenfeude!

Westboro Baptist gets a comeuppance:

Shortly after finishing their protest at the funeral of Army Sgt. Jason James McCluskey of McAlester, a half-dozen protesters from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., headed to their minivan, only to discover that its front and rear passenger-side tires had been slashed.

To make matters worse, as their minivan slowly hobbled away on two flat tires, with a McAlester police car following behind, the protesters were unable to find anyone in town who would repair their vehicle, according to police.

h/t Ace of Spades

One of these days, Westboro Baptist Church members will face a coordinated, well-planned counter-protest that's going to end with some of them going to the hospital.

And I'll bet that none of the instigators will ever be caught .....
