As the hearing progressed, gun-rights supporters grew frustrated at the legislators move to amp measures that would only pertain to law-abiding gun owners and not the criminals they aimed to stop.

In a particularly heated exchanged, 2nd Amendment advocate James Kaleda, 36, was asked to keep his comments relative to bills being heard. “I am on the bill. And I will be heard,” Kaleda said. But Committee Chairman Donald Norcross (D-Camden) called Kaleda out of order.

“This hearing’s out of order,” Kaleda replied.

Within moments, a visibly disgruntled Kaleda was forcibly escorted out of the committee headquarters by law enforcement.

Part of the reason that we gunnies have resisted calls for rebellion is the American idea that we can petition the government. So what happens when the government won't let us?

I make these comments about shooting and killing in an offhand way; I don't mean that we should strike willy-nilly. That said, I do favor a more ... physical ... approach to keeping our representatives in line.

Everybody knows a Walt Kowalski.  He is the grizzled Korean War veteran Clint Eastwood played in the movie Gran Torino.  A man who spends his days sitting on the porch, keeping his house and yard immaculate, satisfied to drink his cheap beer while watching his neighborhood and country go to hell around him.  He is an anachronism, a dinosaur -- part of the old America where you worked hard, took pride in your work and where you lived, and fought for your country and what it stood for when called upon.  Armed with his M1 Garand rifle and 1911 .45 pistol he brought back from the war, he put new meaning in "Get off my lawn."

Mike V presents a similar character in his (hopefully) soon to be finished novel Absolved. Even beyond the 'terminal' problem, the older veterans have a particular distate for those who demand respect rather than command respect.

The difference is subtle, yet distinct.

I’ll say this again,  and in all seriousness:  this is a coup.  We are living through an attempted coup — the result of a New Left strategy that relies less on ostensible violence than it does on the long march through the institutions, and now the concerted funding source to destroy the remains of free market capitalism.  And make no mistake:  many of those giant pro-market industries that will come under attack will switch positions and join the crony capitalist cabal that allows the left to maintain the appearance of a “capitalist” economy even as what they are institutionalizing is liberal fascism, to be imposed on largely disarmed subjects, who are to be molested through the tax code, the regulatory code, and by the hamstringing of their natural rights, which tyrannical men will claim to lord over and reform as privilege.

Jeff is hard to read sometimes, but he's worth all of the concentration required.

I also think it's a bit amusing that more and more 'mainstream' thinkers are coming around to the reality that we just might have to start shooting. Got ammo?

As guests were mingling, finishing tours of the farm, and while the first course of the meal was being prepared and ready to be sent out, a Southern Nevada Health District employee came for an inspection.

Fortunately, the correspondent is a member of the Food-To-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, which has a 24/7 800-number for members to call, and in short order, the inspector was on her way home.

Members of the town council of Quartzsite, Ariz., have mysteriously vanished from their own government website in the wake of thousands of emails flooding in over reports of police intimidation and possible financial wrongdoing.

This is an update to this.

I would suggest that, as a start, citizens of Quartzsite start bringing three things to council meetings: a mop, a couple of feather pillows, and a 5-gal bucket of tar.

A small town in Arizona is suddenly a YouTube sensation after a town-hall meeting devolved into a physical clash as a woman was forcibly removed from speaking during the public portion of the event.

Jennifer "Jade" Jones, 45, of Quartzsite, Ariz., was taken into custody by local police at the behest of Quartzsite councilmembers, over the objections of the mayor, who pleaded with officers not to remove the woman

I grew up in a small town, and I never heard of anything like this happening.

Right now, most folks can ignore the more rabid 'patriots' - but when a police chief is arrayed against the mayor and council members, something will have to give.
