Teacher's strike ...

.
... for the children!

For the first time in 25 years, teachers in the Chicago school system will walk off the job Monday after failing to reach a contract deal with district officials, NBC Chicago reported.

I note that there are no 'children's' issues at stake here, so the next time you hear a teacher say this, you need to call bullshit!

This is the reason that public sector services should not be allowed to unionize - because it's a rigged game. Unions donate (monolithically to one party) to politicians, who are then beholden to labor unions and then who negotiate for the people who pay teacher's salary.

And trust me, the only reason that teachers don't strike more often is that the public wouldn't stand for it.

What do you think?

Good time for an armed Restore the Constitution Rally:

Members of the various Tea Party, 9/12, and other freedom-oriented folks in the Atlanta area will be assembling in the vicinity of Georgia State Capitol this coming Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm. We'll be providing balance to the ravings of the passengers aboard the SEIU Thugbus, which is scheduled to vomit forth its stooges at that same place and time.

Could be that it's heading toward that anyway.

I also predict that if someone doesn't 'convince' a democrat senator to return to Madison, WI, the R's will cave.

It really pays ...

... to be in a union:

In 1997 a Brooklyn teacher was accused of attempting to molest a sixth-grade girl at PS 138. As it happened, he admitted the behavior, but no criminal charges were filed when all was said and done. Still one would think the fact that he inappropriately fondled a teen should be enough to get him fired from his teaching position. But then again, in New York you can't even fire a child molester if he happens to be a teachers union member.

I know stories like this are old hat, just thought a reminder for the new year would be appropriate.

Mobs Unions voice their .... opinions

I've seen this in a lot of places, but I'll link to Ace:

Last Sunday, on a peaceful, sun-crisp afternoon, our toddler finally napping upstairs, my front yard exploded with 500 screaming, placard-waving strangers on a mission to intimidate my neighbor, Greg Baer. Baer is deputy general counsel for corporate law at Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500), a senior executive based in Washington, D.C. And that -- in the minds of the organizers at the politically influential Service Employees International Union and a Chicago outfit called National Political Action -- makes his family fair game.

Actually, it doesn't.

Now, it's unlikely that a big corporate lawyer has more than a passing knowledge of the gun culture, but it's time corporations started giving a little payback.

You can't tell me that large corporations can't afford to hire a couple of operators to come up with an effective plan to put a stop to this kind of shit.

And I sincerely hope that Mr Baer and his son get familiar with high-capacity military pattern rifles, and quickly.
