As accepted by the school board, there will be one rifle each in Gainesville High School, Gainesville Middle School and Wood’s Mill Academy. The proposed gun, a Colt 6920 M4 carbine, would be kept inside a safe, accessible only by the school resource officer using biometric technology. 

Sounds like the police are trying to get the school board to help pay for new rifles, since the school board is splitting the cost.

Transportation Security Administration inspectors forced a wounded Marine who lost both of his legs in an IED blast and who was in a wheelchair to remove his prosthetic legs at one point, and at another point to stand painfully on his legs while his wheelchair was examined, according to a complaint a congressman has registered with the TSA.

I'm on record as not having much respect at all for the TSA; for the most part I think they're bullies who probably got shoved into lockers in high school and what they do has nothing to do with real security but everything to do with making the public think they're safe.

And even though the TSA says that the claim isn't true, it's instructive that there's any question about the incident at all. I mean, given what you've heard, what's more believable; that the TSA humiliated any random traveler (let alone a double-amputee Marine veteran) or they treated all travelers with complete respect and understanding?

David Jones, 67, commented on the ease with which a woman with her face covered by a hijab had walked through security controls, the Daily Mail reports.

"If I was wearing this scarf over my face, I wonder what would happen,'' he said to an official as he went to pass through an X-ray scanner at Gatwick Airport.

To his surprise he was met on the other side of the barrier by officials who detained him for an hour in an attempt to force him to apologise for making an offensive remark.

But now, a Colorado woman is accused of putting her hands on a TSA agent at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

Court records show 61-year-old Yukari Mihamae grabbed the left breast of the female agent Thursday at the Terminal 4 checkpoint.

Because I don't see any way I'd convict this woman.

While most Transportation Security Administration employees are busy groping people or taking naked pictures of them, the cops say one of those employees was putting fliers' electronics down his pants.

They can't stop terrorist attacks, they grope you and they steal your stuff ...

Sounds like an organization that throws good money after bad ... and needs to be disbanded.

A plan by Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, would attack head-on the issue of federal agents of the Transportation Security Administration "groping" airline passengers at security checkpoints by specifying that screeners "are not immune" from laws that limit physical contact with other people.

What would be interesting is if a local sheriff set up TSA-like checkpoints into the courthouse and started targeting all of the judges and attorneys (since they're the least likely to bomb, they're the most in need of checking).

Or maybe a group of sheriffs going to Washington and doing this to our elected officials (especially the women) ... see how they like it, especially since they're exempt from TSA searches.
