Don't look at the benefits ...

.
... but rather the costs:

Quite simply, growing up with gay parents was very difficult, and not because of prejudice from neighbors. People in our community didn’t really know what was going on in the house. To most outside observers, I was a well-raised, high-achieving child, finishing high school with straight A’s.

Inside, however, I was confused. When your home life is so drastically different from everyone around you, in a fundamental way striking at basic physical relations, you grow up weird. I have no mental health disorders or biological conditions. I just grew up in a house so unusual that I was destined to exist as a social outcast.

I know that this might rub some of my gunny friends the wrong way, but reality is reality.

My brother was gay, and as far as I can remember I never advised him that he needed to 'straighten' up or told him that he was wrong in any way. I just loved him, and I miss him.

But he's still dead ... a victim of Teh AIDS (and trust me, it's not a good way to go.). If you're gay, I won't hold that against you - it's a non-issue to me. But please, don't try to use the argument that your actions have no efffect on your children.

Good point, and one that we NEVER hear discussed... Thanks!
