... does anyone out there know anything about, or have a source for information about building an AK from a kit? I assume that this involves making your own receiver (which is the part I'm most interested in). I'm most interested in a stamped receiver but a milled one might be ok.

I think that you're supposed to take a "flat" and bend it into a receiver. I've seen a couple of ways to do it.
I've been wanting to have an AK build party and get a couple of us to make some. It'd be good blogfodder and it'd be fun to do just to piss off the antis
