What's up with Cramer?

I'll admit that I'm not that familiar with Clayton Cramer's writings, save that he's been quoted by SCOTUS and he's pretty influential. That said, most of the recent stuff I've read makes me wonder why we listen to him:
All of this is true — but it turns out that there are some substantial social costs on the other side that simply don’t get any attention.
And of course, his solution is to continue government intrusion where it has no business. And the comments tell the story ...... it's all collectivist justification for more government.

There are social consequences to every choice we make as individuals .... some are negligible, some are not. Regardless, it is not the government's responsibility to do something about it. The only legitimate need for government is when social problems turn into criminal conduct.

And then, only to clean up the mess.
