I must apologize ...

.
... to my loyal readers (both of them!).

In my recent dearth of posting I find myself in a real funk about current events. With the exception of the recent DC decision (congratulations to Alan Gura), our current political climate is at a dead end.

Despite our gains, nothing changes.

If gun rights gets a win, the anti-gunners continue to agitate for more control, lying all the way. Yes, we won one in DC, but there are still states where you must get permission to exercise an enumerated right (FOID cards). And those states will fight tooth and nail to keep those requirements.

The longer I live and the more I hear, the more convinced I am that we stopped shooting waywardpoliticians much too soon.

I noticed yesterday ...

.
... that NBC didn't report on the DC Court decision that purchasers of insurance from federal exchanges aren't eligible for subsidies.

I guess they can put their fingers in their ears and sing 'la la la la la' with the best of them.

You mean ...

.
... you didn't already know that?
In a resignation letter obtained by National Report, Wagner claims she has been spreading “lies on behalf of Obama” and using her position with MSNBC to “falsely promote a brutal dictator.”

Wagner goes on to say, “I have spent my entire professional career working toward a position based on false pretenses.  I have worked hard to obtain a position with a major news network and expected to be reporting on serious issues.  Instead, I am handed Pro-Obama scripts and asked to be a mouthpiece for the administration.”
Because I did.

Hey ...

.
... doesn't Chris Christie live in NJ?
A Philadelphia woman is now facing felony gun charges after she brought her legally-owned gun into New Jersey. The 27-year-old single mother of two claims she never meant to do anything wrong and simply did not know that her concealed carry permit, issued in her home state of Pennsylvania, did not apply in The Garden State.
Another opportunity that will be missed by the severely conservative Christie .

I thought the question ...

.
... had been answered long ago:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has identified a massive new threat to domestic airline security. No, it’s not ISIS, Al Qaeda, or the Taliban.

It’s the dead battery on your smartphone.
Yes, the TSA IS the most monstrously incompetent agency evah!

Because the king ...

.
... must not be mocked:
The U.S. Department of Justice has sent a member of its Community Relations Service team to investigate a Nebraska parade float that criticized President Obama.
I guess all the other crimes have been solved.

Using this logic ...

.
... the government should be buying me up to and including an M249:
A California college town known for its liberal activism has voted to make medicinal marijuana dispensaries give away free a small amount of their pot to the poor.

Berkeley City Council members voted unanimously late on Tuesday to instruct local outlets to provide marijuana equal to 2 percent of their sales to patients on low incomes.

After all, 'keeping' means I have to be able to 'get', and I'm low income, don't ya know!

Oh bother ...

.
... another one:

Former America's Most Wanted host John Walsh is hosting a new show on CNN on which he vows to keep the push for gun control and the war on the NRA alive.

I think it's time that pro-gun guests on these shows start showing no mercy. If these hosts were to get the righteous reaming they deserve, maybe they wouldn't be so quick to bash us.

Truly ...

.
... we are our own worst enemies:
It started when a man with a holstered firearm inside the store noticed another man with a holstered firearm enter the store.

The first man approached the second and demanded to see his identification and firearms license, to which the man replied, WTF, mate?
Yes, we have stupid people who carry guns. Know why?
Because there are stupid people! Hopefully the DA in Valdosta will throw the book at this numbnuts.

Happy Independence Day

Stay safe.

Ole Dickie Metcalf ...

.
... still doesn't get it:
Metcalf went on to become a competitive shooter who has hunted on five continents, as well as a historian. He has been studying and writing about the Bill of Rights and firearms for 37 years. He has taught at Yale and Cornell, enacted concealed-carry laws across the country, and authored pro-firearms legislation.

But he is not opposed to mandatory training for gun owners, and tighter regulation of firearms.
What a fucking cock holster. He's incorrigible.

Saw this on Patterico's blog ...

.
... my, some people are fed up!
No, it’s actually time for the TEA Party to quit the “let it burn” mantra, and start stoking the fires.
Ace (@Ace of Spades) has been of the 'let it burn' camp for a while now. Looks like that's not fast enough.

I'm not sure that the GOP can be reformed, at this point; at least, not at the national level. There's too much incentive for politicians to seek power over representation.

I hope that Israel ...

.
... lets slip the dogs of war:
And for now there's still a chance that the kidnapping was the work of rogue Hamas cells, rather than a conspiracy ordered by the organization's top leadership.
They can signal to Hamas that they can get out from under the whirlwind by delivering the heads of those responsible.

But only after 48 hours of whirlwind.
