Radley Balko's Agitator had a post about government nannies trying to do something about perverts:

Rep. Dawn Hill is championing a bill that would make “visual sexual aggression” (whatever the hell that means) an offense for viewing children in a public place.

The bill was prompted by the admittedly-creepy story of a guy watching children enter and exit a public restroom.

Of course, when the cops got there, the gent hadn't done anything so police couldn't arrest him. So here's how you take care of it.

Me: (walking amiably up to perv-in-question) Hey buddy, whatcha doin'?

Perv: Nothing ... just minding my own business.

Me: Yeah, I saw the cops talking to you ... seems someone was concerned about you just sitting here watching kids go in and out of the restroom.

Perv: Yeah, but I ain't doing nuthin'.

Me: Yeah ... that's what I wanted to talk to you about. See, I'm concerned over you being here as well, and it seems to me that this can go one of two ways. 1. You pack up and get out of here. 2. I beat the ever-livin' fuck outta you. And in the off-chance I get arrested, I feel that I'll beat the rap when I get in front of my fellow citizens.

Seems to me that might do the trick.

The mini PC, called the Raspberry Pi, is no bigger than a standard USB memory stick, and runs a version of Linux, an open-source operating system.

I'm a big fan of Linux, if only because it's not Windows (apologies to Joe!).

Just a note: TN recognizes carry permits from all states that issue one (according to the NRA-ILA). Can't say what the environment will be for open-carriers (it is legal in TN), but I'm considering it.

But it has to work! We've based our whole business model on it working!

They've pissed off a judge in CO, and he's handling all of their cases there. Pack it up, Righthaven.

An excellent idea

Robert Zubrin has a modest proposal:

I suggest it be done as follows. Let’s let the majority party in the state legislature take the first shot at proposing a redistricting plan. The sum of the irregularities of all the proposed districts can then be added up to create a score for the majority plan. The minority party can then be given 30 days to come up with an alternative plan. If they can come up with a design whose irregularity score is 1 percent lower than the majority plan, then the minority plan is adopted. If not, then the majority plan remains in place.

It probably won't work, since there's math involved ... and we all know how hard math is for politicians.

Bullies ...

She was allegedly in a dispute with her mother in a car park and the two of them are seen on the floor for some time in the video, but the girl managed to get free.

That’s until a police officer responding to the scene near Ombudsman Charter School runs at her from behind and knocks her onto the ground.

Since there's little audio, we can't know if the officer even made any orders to stop.

But it looks to me like he's just a bully with a badge and a gun. Pathetic.

Well, that was interesting!

Recovering from a tornado is rough enough, but recovering form 3 tornadoes, well, that's an order of magnitude worse.

Yes, me and mine are alright. The twisters missed our particular area. The town down in the valley from us, however, got hit pretty hard. Power was out for us until Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't until today that we found out that a bum router was keeping us off the internet. A quick trip to Walmart, and I'm back!

2 dead in my immediate area, and lots of homeless ... could have been much worse. A whole lot better than Alabama (glad to hear that Mike V's ok). Hope to get back in the swing of things soon!
