Why big government doesn't work

Here's another post by Doctor Zero, stolen from Hot Air. Yes it's long ..... it's sooo worth the effort to read:

It’s not in the nature of government to abandon failed programs, because if government was intelligent and morally superior enough to assert control over a situation in the first place, it will not see the logic in surrendering that control to inferior free-willed citizens. Instead, it will redouble its efforts.
